Onyx by Jennifer L Armentrout

Onyx follows Daemon and Kat after the events in Obsidian, as the chaos goes on.
Literally one of my favorites of the series. I am currently on the last book and I just….oh my gosh does this series get so much better as the books progress! I’ll be posting my reviews soon for Opal and Origin soon. Let me tell you, I thought Daemon was swoon worthy in the first book, he is so much more in the second book!
Things get so crazy as the book goes along, and as events start to unfold.
But that ending, I cry!
Did not expect that from this book, and of course I was crushed and the drama was just too much! Not in a bad way, but too much for my heart.
The characters are great, the plot is fast paced, action packed, everything I really enjoyed in a fantasy book! The sexual tension…oh man! So good! I really liked Daemon and Kat’s interactions during the first book, and it really got better during this book. I really love it. Kat is just the funniest person, and I adore her so much! In terms of the fast pace, I loved how it kept it up throughout the book. I know sometimes books either start out slow then get faster as it goes on; or will start out fast then go slow. This starts out fast, and doesn’t let up at all. I am so happy this isn’t a filler book for the series. I hate that sometimes that happens.
I have been really enjoying Jennifer’s books lately, and this series is now my favorite of hers. Which was weird because I loved the Dark Elements series so much.
I really enjoyed reading about Katy and her book blog. I liked the different snippets we got from the different books she has read, as well as the snippets we got of her filming. She’s adorable, and I really like her character throughout the series!
As mentioned, Daemon was swoon worthy, as well as super protective. It really kicked up when Blake came into the picture.
Honestly, at times I really enjoyed reading about Blake. But at the end I really hated him!! Ahhh! If you’ve read this series, you’ll know why, and might even agree with me! The hate is real. But he really brings out a different side of Daemon, and it was funny to watch.
With all the different revelations the book brought forth, I really just…couldn’t hold out my freak out moments and now my mom thinks I’m a weirdo (as usual). I finished this book and moved right onto the next book. Didn’t take a break, and I don’t regret it.
Side note: THAT LAST PAGE! GOOD LORD. End Side Note.
Let me know in the comments your thoughts on this book, as well as the series as a whole!
