Say You’ll Remember Me by Katie McGarry

Publisher: Harlequin Teen

Rating: 5-star-rating-clipart-1

Summary: When Drix was convicted of a crime–one he didn’t commit–he thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the new Second Chance Program, the governor’s newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while.

Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor’s daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn’t may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means.

When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle’s parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix’s messy life.

But sometimes love can breach all barriers.

Fighting against a society that can’t imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselves–Drix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independence–and each other to finally get what they deserve.

Thank you to Inkslinger PR for allowing me to do this tour! The thoughts and opinions are my own for this book!

So I’ve only read one other Katie McGarry book and I really loved that one so I was really happy to get the chance to read this book as well. It sounded really amazing and I was hoping that I would like it. And I did! I loved it!! It’s probably one of my favorite books this year so far!

It’s about Elle and Drix and I really adored them so much! I was so invested in their relationship throughout the whole novel. My heart broke for them so much, and I was cheering them on! I just got lost in their romance and it was amazing! My feelings are all over the place for them I just love them! While I’ve only read one other Katie McGarry book so I’ve only covered one couple, I think so far Drix and Elle are my favorite couple by here. I will definitely be reading other books by her but I can already tell these two are just my favorite! Katie McGarry really writes amazing characters that just feel so real to you, that sometimes you forget that they’re a fictional couple.

Also Drix just stole my heart! I’m a goner for him!

But I loved seeing their relationship develop from a friendship on the campaign trail to a romance as time went on. Their dynamic was great, and it really brought them to life in my eyes.

The storyline was so interesting and I always was itching to find out what was happening next because I was so curious about it all. And the narrative was fast paced, and I never got bored reading this book. It kept me hooked from the beginning to the end and I really love when a book can do that for you! And when the book ended I wanted more! I wasn’t ready to be done with the novel and I was sad that it was over.

Katie McGarry’s writing of this novel was amazing. She is a very creative author and I really find myself enjoying her stories immensely, her romances get to me so much, and the drama and angst are top notch. She’s really just amazing at creating a storyline that feels unique and taking you to places in these stories along with the characters.

I highly suggest that you check her work out if you’re looking for romances with a feeling of angst or drama. She delivers that so well. She really is great at writing slow burning and forbidden romances, she really is because this one just dragged me along and I was melted goo at the end of it.

Overall I really enjoyed this novel! I highly recommend this book for romance lovers all around, you won’t be disappointed by it at all. It’s amazing and one of my favorite books this month, maybe even this year!

Let me know your thoughts down below, and what book I should read by McGarry next as I would love to know!
