Summary: In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who’s only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

So it’s been like 2 years since I read Scarlet and I decided to check this audiobook out from my Libby app and listened to it. It was really interesting and I really liked it! I forgot how much I missed this book and the characters.

In this book we got to meet Cress and I honestly liked her enough but she wasn’t my favorite. I just didn’t like how she was portrayed as being so weak because she was isolated from the world. I just didn’t like how annoying she was because of how panicky and emotional she got over everything. But I did like how much she added to the team. And her chemistry with Thorne, because he’s one of my favorite characters in this series. But Cress was so great with her computer skills and they honestly couldn’t have done much without her and she brought a lot to the table and I liked how they instantly included her in the story.

And of course Scarlet and Wolfe are tied as my favorite couple with Cinder and Kai. But oh my gosh Scarlet and Wolfe! I was sad that we didn’t see much into their relationship in this book but it was a great build up to what happens in the last book which I already read. Wolfe just made my heart break because of his love for Scarlet and what happened with them. Scarlet was her usual sassy self which made me love her so much.

And Kai and Cinder…ahhhh!!! I love them so much!! I really like them! Kai is just so cute being concerned all the time about Cinder and her safety. Love that he still cared about her no matter his confusion on her lunar status and his romantic feelings about her. And Cinder’s feelings for Kai just made me so happy.

And Iko was of course the life of the party! I liked her so much and I always think that she brings so much fun and humor to the story.

I still hate Levana.

I hate her!!!

She’s a horrible person and probably the most cruel villain I’ve ever read in a YA book before. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a more horrible person than her.

And Jacin was great too. You didn’t really read much about him but I liked what I read, even though he did do something shitty in the end. But his sarcastic tone was funny too. I liked getting to read more about him in Winter because it really showed his backstory and why he did the things that he did.

Overall I liked this story and I missed the world of this story and that I really fell into this world all over again. I’m obsessed with this world again and I’m so happy about it. Highly recommend that you check this out. Honestly the whole series is great but I felt that Cress and Winter were the better books in this. So much happened in both that it really pulls you in and takes you on such a big adventure.

Let me know your thoughts on this book and if you’ve read it! Who is your favorite couple in this series?? I’d love to know! Which book is your favorite in this series?? Mine would have to be Winter!
