Flick the Wick Unboxing: A Maas Love Story

So I found Flick the Wick and found out they were doing a Sarah J Maas box with stuff from both ACOTAR and TOG and me being the SJM trash I am I had to buy it and I loved this box!

It came with a bunch of really great items inspired by Sarah’s series.

This artwork is beautiful!

And here are the two prints that were included in the box. The first is by Monolimeart and I’ll leave her instagram page here for you to check her out because her work is amazing! Link here: Monolimeart

And the next artist is by morgana0anagrom on tumblr. I’ll leave her link as well here! Her work is stunning and I think you should give her a follow and a look! They’re amazing! Link: Morgana0Anagrom

So this next designer designed both this beautiful pin and also the bookmark! It’s dreamyandco on Etsy! I love their work and I always get excited when I see that their items are included in boxes! I’ll leave the link here for you here so check here for their page!

Link: Dreamyandco

Isn’t this bookmark stunning?! It’s double sided!

And we also got this pillowcase by EvieSeo included as well and I’m happy it was! I love this quote and love that it was there. I can’t wait to add it to my collection of Evie’s pillowcases! I’ll leave her society6 page for you to check out. I know I rave about her a lot but she is amazing!! Like so amazing!

Link: EvieSeo

So Flick the Wick included this heading tea based on Chaol and Yrene! I’m really excited to try it out! I mean I want to keep it locked up and displayed but I also really want to try it out so I’ll try it out anyways hehehehe.

And my heart broke when I got this beautiful roller perfume bottle. It is just amazing and smells so good! I have it with me in my make up bag because I want to smell like this at all times. And the feels killed me because Sam….the baby Sam….ahhhh!

Isn’t this so beautiful?! The loves of my life in candle form is stunning! The label is really pretty! And it smells great! I hope there is a larger sized option because I want to buy that one and burn it and save this little one for display because it’s so cute. *Cries* my loves.

And then we have these amazing couple candles because feels! I adore this so much! And of course these are going on display! They smell good and I want to burn them all but also they’re precious and need to be shown to the world.

Obvs my favorite is Rowaelin because I’m trash for them.

Here is the spoiler card for you to check out!

And that was my unboxing of this amazing box! I love it so much!!! I will definitely be buying bookish candles from them in the future because they have really amazing options!

I mean moms mad at me for buying more but I can’t help myself. Don’t judge me…

But let me know your thoughts as I would love to know what you think! What company do you like buying candles from??

Throne of Glass- One Time Box

Hello! I’m here with an unboxing of the One Time Throne of Glass box from The Bookish Box! I currently subscribe to their boxes, but currently I am only getting their shirts monthly rather than the whole box. But they do One Time Boxes and I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Thorne of Glass box. I purchased a while back the ACOTAR box and loved it so I’m happy to be able to have both!

So an item I’m really happy to receive is another Book Beau! I have quite a few of these and I honestly use them all…so I can always use more for my collection! I love this color and the design is cute! Plus the quote is from my favorite out of the series because Heir of Fire broke me…

Definitely check Book Beau out though! Shop link here: Book Beau

I’m really happy about this tumbler, because I had to throw all my others away since I used them so much. I’m trying not to use this one that much because I want to keep it for as long as I can but I do want to use it every once in a while. It’s so pretty!

It was created by Bookworm Boutique and I’ll leave their shop link for you here: Bookworm Boutique

So I think this is the item I am most excited for! It’s an enamel pin from Ink and Wonder and I love it so much! I love their items and I shop from them often so I was over the moon when this item was included! I also got a pin from their most recent box and it was ACOTAR themed (the pin/not the box).

I’m so happy to add this to my collection! It looks beautiful on my pin board!

Shop link: Ink and Wonder

So the next item is this really great candle that’s based on the character Manon! It was created by Whiskey Diamond Co off Etsy. It smells so good and while I like to keep my candles from my favorite fandoms unused I really want to burn this since it smells fantastic!

Shop link: Whiskey Diamond Co

We also have this Eilde print by Gabrielle Bujdoso and I love her art work and gah it’s so beautiful! I got distracted while typing this because I went to look for her site page to link so you can check her out and I was distracted for almost an hour because her work is so amazing.

CHECK HER OUT PLS…She’s amazing!

Lastly is the shirt they always include! And it’s beautiful! I love it and I’ve worn it a few times already and I can’t even. One of my favorite quotes by Sarah! It’s amazing!!!!! Love their shirts! It was created by the Bookish Shop!

Shop link here: The Bookish Shop

Spoiler card for you to check out!

And that is my unboxing for you all! Hope you enjoyed it and let me know your thoughts as I would love to know!

The Bookish Box Unboxing: February

So here is my February Bookish Box Unboxing for you! This box was okay but not my favorite!

The first item we got is this wand keychain, which I think I’ve gotten from a different box but in necklace form. I think. I cant remember right now. This was created by The Bookish Shop.

We also have the monthly doodle that’s included now in the boxes. And then we have the calendar print created by Hey Atlas. It’s definitely going on the little calendar easel I got in the previous box.

Hey Atlas Creative: Hey Atlas

We have the Harry Potter art prints created by Gabriella Bujdoso, who is an amazing artist. I’m leaving her link here for you to check out: Gabriella Bujdoso

I think my favorite item in this box was this Home Sweet Home Night Court enamel pin!! I am slowly starting to collect some pins for my collection at home and I want to get as many Sarah J Maas pins as I can and this one is a beautiful design to add to my collection! It’s from Ink and Wonder Designs which I’ll leave linked here: Ink and Wonder

So I’m a bit upset. I saw that the box was coming with a Lord of the Rings item which as you know if you know me, is my favorite trilogy ever, and favorite book trilogy of all time. So I changed my subscription so I could go from just the shirt to the whole box, and this is what comes. A luggage tag. I wouldn’t be too mad if it was well made. It’s just like a papery material luggage tag. I don’t even think it would last one flight on my luggage honestly.

I mean the design is really cool, but it’s so cheaply made.

I’m just a bundle of disappointment.

But it was kind of made up for with this ACOWAR shirt by Sarah J Maas. I love this quote and this design! It’s stunning! I wore it today and it was very comfortable and I am so happy to add it to my collection of shirts from them!

We got the bath bomb from Pure Poetry Cosmetics and it’s from the Percy Jackson series. I’ve been slowly using my bath bombs I’ve been getting from my boxes so I hope I can get to this one soon! It looks really pretty!

And here we have the book for this month! It’s The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross! I have another copy of this book but I am happy to add this to my collection. And it also came with a signed book plate and a letter as well.

Summary: When her seventeenth summer solstice arrives, Brienna desires only two things: to master her passion and to be chosen by a patron.

Growing up in the southern Kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her for such a life. While some are born with an innate talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she belatedly chose to study knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true—the solstice does not go according to plan and she is left without a patron.

Months later, her life takes an unexpected turn when a disgraced lord offers her patronage. Suspicious of his intent, and with no other choices, she accepts. But there is much more to his story, and Brienna soon discovers that he has sought her out for his own vengeful gain. For there is a dangerous plot being planned to overthrow the king of Maevana—the archrival kingdom of Valenia—and restore the rightful queen, and her magic, to the northern throne. And others are involved—some closer to Brienna than she realizes.

With war brewing between the two lands, Brienna must choose whose side she will remain loyal to—passion or blood. Because a queen is destined to rise and lead the battle to reclaim the crown. The ultimate decision Brienna must determine is: Who will be that queen?

Here is the spoiler card for you to look at!

And that is my unboxing for this month. Got some good items and some okay items. The next few ones are just going to be shirts because I just dont want to buy the whole box right now. I’d rather spend it on a box that I really want rather than one I’m neutral on.

Let me know your thoughts below and I’ll see you in my next unboxing!

Owlcrate Unboxing: February

I loved this box! It’s definitely one of my favorite boxes so far since I’ve signed up! I really loved the items and it was just so great! It was just filled with everything I could have ever wanted in a box!

The theme is Hidden Worlds and the book in this box is one I have read, and while I wasn’t a big fan of it I do love this addition!

And the first item in this amazing box is this Through the Wardrobe candle from Books on Candles! The theme was from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe! I’m honestly not sure how to navigate this website but I will leave the link below for you to check out. It smells so good so I can wait to burn this candle.

And here is the pin for this monthly box which is really pretty! Adding this to my pin collection!

And here is this really cute key necklace created by the team from Owlcrate, and it was inspired by the key in Coraline. It’s so pretty, and also this bag is super cute as well! I mean it’s purple! I can’t wait to wear it, it looks so beautiful!

And here is the cute Alice in Wonderland sticker from Naomi Lord. Her work is beautiful and I love it! I checked out her shop on Etsy, and I love her other work. She does a lot of different fandoms and its great! I am excited to have this sticker in my collection, it’s beautiful!

This is for sure one of my favorite items in this box, because I love getting pouches. But this time we got a beautiful leather pouch! I normally get cloth pouches with beautiful designs, and this one was a surprise because it was really great quality with a beautiful design as well! I can’t wait to find something to use this for! I have so many ideas with what I could use this for and I’m so ready for it! The design is for Risa Rodil from Redbubble, and of course I really like her designs so I highly suggest you check it out.

Link: Redbubble

And my favorite item is this bookish wall tapestry from Evie Designs! It’s amazing! I can’t wait to hang it up. I want to find a spot in my house and make that my reading corner so that I could have a nice quiet corner to really spend time to myself. I just need to find it and make room for it. I have a bunch of stuff from Evie’s pages on Society6 and Redbubble, so I highly suggest that you check her work out!

Link: Society6

And the book for the month is The Hazel Wood! By Melissa Albert. I’ve already read this book, I got an ARC for review so I finished it and sadly it was only a 3 star for me. But I love the cover! And below you can see the Owlcrate edition which is green! And since I didn’t have a finished copy of the book this will be my nice finished copy! So pretty!

We also got stickers and a letter from the author which are in the picture below.

Summary: Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: her mother is stolen away―by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: “Stay away from the Hazel Wood.”

Alice has long steered clear of her grandmother’s cultish fans. But now she has no choice but to ally with classmate Ellery Finch, a Hinterland superfan who may have his own reasons for wanting to help her. To retrieve her mother, Alice must venture first to the Hazel Wood, then into the world where her grandmother’s tales began―and where she might find out how her own story went so wrong.

Here is the full green cover that is exclusive to Owlcrate!

The book is also signed by the author! And there’s a note that it’s an exclusive edition! I’m so happy!

And this is the newsletter that we get in the boxes now with interviews and such! I like that they included this now because I think it’s so cool!

As usual here’s the spoiler card for you!

And that is my Owlcrate Unboxing for February! I’m sorry this is a bit late but I like to keep it for later so that people who haven’t gotten their boxes yet can be surprised still! But I really like this box! I’m very happy!

Let me know your thoughts, and also what your favorite item is because I would really like to know!

And I also got this Penguin Teen super proof that was included in this box! I read some of the excerpts and I thought it was cool to have this included in this box! Plus it has purple pages which I like so much!

And since they have a ACOTAR item they had to include a TOG item and it’s a ring with the Galathynius family crest on it and I think it’s so beautiful! It’s somewhere in my room right now since I recently wore it…and my room is a mess so of course I can’t find it since it’s probably buried under my clothes…but still I love wearing it so I plan to wear it as often as I can! Summary: Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

Summary: Most know Androma Racella as the Bloody Baroness, a powerful mercenary whose reign of terror stretches across the Mirabel Galaxy. To those aboard her glass starship, Marauder, however, she’s just Andi, their friend and fearless leader.

Book of the Month Unboxing: January

Hello! Here is my Book of the Month book for January! For those that don’t know, you get to pick your book for each month and they’re adult books! Each month you can pick one book, and add another book for a discounted price!

This month I just got one book and I’m here to talk about it!

So the book I got this month is The Woman in the Window by A J Finn and it seems like everyone is raving about this book! I have heard really amazing things about this and I can’t wait to read it soon! I really do plan to get to it asap!

Summary: Anna Fox lives alone, a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times–and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, and their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Bookish Box Unboxing: December

Hello! I’m here with my December Bookish Box Unboxing. This box wasn’t really interesting to me and I was putting my subscription as only t-shirt and for January I believe it is, but for February I moved it back because I wanted the items for that box based on what they mentioned on their instagram. But yeah once that’s done I’ll be going back to just the t-shirt for month to month.

I’d prefer to just like focus on other subscriptions I currently have.

* I had to get images off google images because I deleted all my images off my WordPress drive and also my phone so yeah….*

This box was themed Destined and I really didn’t care for much of the items or the book, but I liked an item or two in this month!

I got this cute ornament that has book titles on it, and I thought it was really cute to add to my little collection! It was created by Hello World Paper Co on Etsy and I like the modern novels paired with classic novels. Thought it added a nice touch! Etsy: Hello World Paper Co

Of course my favorite item in this box was the Aelin Fireheart mug with one of my favorite fae on there! I have this in my collection of mugs so I’m super happy to have it! I love her world, and I hope they one day use her High Lady of the Night Court design on a mug so they match! Site link here: The Watercolorie

We also got the shirt, which is an added item in each box they send out. I always get it because they have cool designs for shirts. I’m not a Harry Potter fan honestly but I like the idea of this shirt. I got the image off of: My Subscription Addiction

And then we also got this Harry Potter candle which actually smells really good so I may actually burn this candle! I’ve never burned their candles before so I’ll need to look up if you can burn the candle with the little gold flakes on top because I don’t want to mess something up…..anyways here is the link to the shop: Whiskey Diamond Co

And the image is also off of: Hello Subscription

We also have this month’s prints with the Monthly doodle drawn by Doodles by Christina and the Mother of Dragons doodle by Dani Marie Draws Instagram

And this month’s book I have no idea what it is about so here’s the summary for you! Let me know if it’s something you would be interested in reading. I have never heard of this book so I can’t tell you if I plan to or not in the future…Let me know if you have so maybe I can make an informed decision!

Summary: The house on Arrow Island is full of mystery.

Yet when Mei arrives, she can’t help feeling relieved. She’s happy to spend the summer in an actual mansion tutoring a rich man’s daughter if it means a break from her normal life—her needy mother, her delinquent brother, their tiny apartment in the city. And Ella Morison seems like an easy charge, sweet and well behaved.

What Mei doesn’t know is that something is very wrong in the Morison household.

Though she tries to focus on her duties, Mei becomes increasingly distracted by the family’s problems and her own complicated feelings for Ella’s brother, Henry. But most disturbing of all are the unexplained noises she hears at night—the howling and thumping and cries.

Mei is a sensible girl. She isn’t superstitious; she doesn’t believe in ghosts. Yet she can’t shake her fear that there is danger lurking in the shadows of this beautiful house, a darkness that could destroy the family inside and out… and Mei along with them.

Here is the spoiler card for you! Also from: My Subscription Addiction

And that was my unboxing for December. I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you soon with my future unboxing for January! Let me know your thoughts below as I would love to know your thoughts!

Illumicrate Unboxing

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a Happy New Year Eve and Day!

I’m here to show you my November Illumicrate unboxing! I ended up getting it a bit late and got it towards the end of December so I haven’t had much of a chance to do a post about it. But I think besides Owlcrate this is one of my favorite boxes I get each month!

So Illumicrate is a quarterly box and you pay for the box and you end up with two books in the box! Recently it’s been an ARC in the box and they send such beautiful editions!

Website link here: Illumicrate

The first item in this box is this really beautiful print from Nutmeg and Arlo on Easy! I really do like this quote and it really is true honestly! At least I think so! I love Nutmeg and Arlo’s stuff, they have really cute pins and prints and I always want to buy stuff from them but I always don’t because I tend to spend my money on books….but you should definitely check them out!

Link here: Nutmeg and Arlo

This item to me is kind of sad, because I love Meraki Candles and unfortunately they are shutting down. I only ever got the candles they included in the boxes because shipping from out of the country tends to be expensive, so sadly I never bought a candle from them which is something I regret but I wish them all the best in their next adventure!

They also included this sampler of This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada, I had the ARC but never got around to it sadly, but I do plan on reading it soon since I have the audiobook.

Summary: Catarina Agatta is a hacker. She can cripple mainframes and crash through firewalls, but that’s not what makes her special. In Cat’s world, people are implanted with technology to recode their DNA, allowing them to change their bodies in any way they want. And Cat happens to be a gene-hacking genius.

That’s no surprise, since Cat’s father is Dr. Lachlan Agatta, a legendary geneticist who may be the last hope for defeating a plague that has brought humanity to the brink of extinction. But during the outbreak, Lachlan was kidnapped by a shadowy organization called Cartaxus, leaving Cat to survive the last two years on her own.

When a Cartaxus soldier, Cole, arrives with news that her father has been killed, Cat’s instincts tell her it’s just another Cartaxus lie. But Cole also brings a message: before Lachlan died, he managed to create a vaccine, and Cole needs Cat’s help to release it and save the human race.

Now Cat must decide who she can trust: The soldier with secrets of his own? The father who made her promise to hide from Cartaxus at all costs? In a world where nature itself can be rewritten, how much can she even trust herself?

I also got this 2018 journal which is super cute! I love it so much! It’s a weekly journal and I plan on using it to plan for blogging and work! Super excited to use it! The website will be linked below so I highly recommend checking out her etsy page, there is a lot of really awesome items for sale!

Link: Prism of Starling

The next item is a really stunning moon necklace from Oh Panda Eyes on etsy! I have a few items I saw that I want to purchase but it will have to wait for when they are back on etsy as they are currently taking a short break! I’ll leave the link below and you all should go check when they are back open because they have really pretty items!

Link: Oh Panda Eyes

And then this really cute tea towel is really cute! I love it! I still have no idea what a tea towel is so if anyone can tell me what that is I’d really appreciate it! Because I have no idea! Is it like a hand towel???

Anyways this tea towel is designed by Evannave so I’ll link her Link Tree for you to check her out!

Link: Evannave Link Tree

So I got this sampler of Iron Gold by Pierce Brown and I can’t really read this since I haven’t read the Red Rising books by him so I need to do that before starting Iron Gold.

I’ll leave a summary even though it’s a continuation of the Red Rising Trilogy

Summary: A decade ago, Darrow was the hero of the revolution he believed would break the chains of the Society. But the Rising has shattered everything: Instead of peace and freedom, it has brought endless war. Now he must risk everything he has fought for on one last desperate mission. Darrow still believes he can save everyone, but can he save himself?

And throughout the worlds, other destinies entwine with Darrow’s to change his fate forever:

A young Red girl flees tragedy in her refugee camp and achieves for herself a new life she could never have imagined.

An ex-soldier broken by grief is forced to steal the most valuable thing in the galaxy—or pay with his life.

And Lysander au Lune, the heir in exile to the sovereign, wanders the stars with his mentor, Cassius, haunted by the loss of the world that Darrow transformed, and dreaming of what will rise from its ashes.

Red Rising was the story of the end of one universe, and Iron Goldis the story of the creation of a new one. Witness the beginning of a stunning new saga of tragedy and triumph from masterly New York Times bestselling author Pierce Brown

I also got this stunning edition of City of Brass by S A Chakraborty. I had read a good chunk of this before and I ended up putting it down but this edition really makes me want to go and check it out again so maybe I’ll pick it up again and try to finish it. This cover is just so stunning! I love it!

Summary: Step into The City of Brass, the spellbinding debut from S. A. Chakraborty—an imaginative alchemy of The Golem and the Jinni, The Grace of Kings, and One Thousand and One Nights, in which the future of a magical Middle Eastern kingdom rests in the hands of a clever and defiant young con artist with miraculous healing gifts

Nahri has never believed in magic. Certainly, she has power; on the streets of 18th century Cairo, she’s a con woman of unsurpassed talent. But she knows better than anyone that the trade she uses to get by—palm readings, zars, healings—are all tricks, sleights of hand, learned skills; a means to the delightful end of swindling Ottoman nobles.

But when Nahri accidentally summons an equally sly, darkly mysterious djinn warrior to her side during one of her cons, she’s forced to accept that the magical world she thought only existed in childhood stories is real. For the warrior tells her a new tale: across hot, windswept sands teeming with creatures of fire, and rivers where the mythical marid sleep; past ruins of once-magnificent human metropolises, and mountains where the circling hawks are not what they seem, lies Daevabad, the legendary city of brass?a city to which Nahri is irrevocably bound.

In that city, behind gilded brass walls laced with enchantments, behind the six gates of the six djinn tribes, old resentments are simmering. And when Nahri decides to enter this world, she learns that true power is fierce and brutal. That magic cannot shield her from the dangerous web of court politics. That even the cleverest of schemes can have deadly consequences.

After all, there is a reason they say be careful what you wish for . . .

And the book in the box is Artemis by Andy Weir! I have never read The Martian by him but this one sounds really interesting! Plus this cover is really cool and it has black splayed edges which I love! So happy to add this to my collection!

Summary: Jazz Bashara is a criminal.

Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you’re not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you’ve got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent.

Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down. But pulling off the impossible is just the start of Jazz’s problems, as she learns that she’s stepped square into a conspiracy for control of Artemis itself – and that now, her only chance at survival lies in a gambit even more unlikely than the first.

It also came with this travel brochure and this bookmark for Artemis as well and I think they’re super neat!
