Weekend Reads TBR

Hello! So this weekend is pretty busy with work and finals week next week so yeah not much time to read yet but I hope to fix that a bit.

I don’t have ambitious plans this weekend but I wanna try and finish one book at least.

So my plan is to get farther into The Cowboy Who Came Calling which I’m reading off my kindle.

I’m like 50% of the way through now so I plan on working on that more this weekend.

Lastly I want to finish Haunting the Deep by Adriana Mather. I’m loving it but with how busy I’ve been I haven’t had a chance to get to it.

Anyways that’s all my plans for this weekend hopefully I can finish these plans with all that’s going on! Plus my area has a fire going on, I live decently near Fallbrook area where the Lilac Fire is happening so I’ve packed a bag of clothes incase we need to leave which we don’t foresee us having to do but you never know.

Send good vibes!

Let me know your plans for the weekend and what you hope to read and I’ll see you in my next post!

Weekend Reads

So here I am with another Weekend Reads TBR! I dont have much besides work and homework so I hope I make time to read!

I have plans today (Friday) but that leaves me a lot of time to read. I’ll be up in LA waiting outside Kimmel to meet the Star Wars cast so I’ll be outside and I want to spend the time outside reading.

Anyways here is what I plan on reading.

Since it’s already December I want to dive headfirst into my reread of the Throne of Glass series. I honestly don’t know if I’ll start that this weekend but I’ll be bringing it along anyways, so I can start rereading them and tabbing it.

Another book is one I have been stuck reading for a while. I don’t know why I haven’t gotten very far but yeah. It’s Haunting the Deep by Adriana Mather. I loved it so far so I really want to finish it this weekend.

I think on the drives during the weekend up to LA, home from LA, and to work, I want to listen to the audiobook of something. I have no idea what yet. Maybe The Dark Intercept by Julia Keller. This was something I wanted to read last month but I wanna go back and forth between the audiobook and the Netgalley ebook. Let’s hope I can get to it! I finished A Skinful of Shadows on audiobook so I’m in an audiobook mode!

If I have a chance I want to get like 50-100 pages into Nevernight since I’m still trying to read it! I’m so horrible!

Anyways those are the books I plan to read or get a dent in this weekend! Let me know your reading plans this weekend and I’ll see you in my next post!

Weekend Reads

Hey everyone! I’m here with another Weekend Reads! I don’t have many plans besides work and some homework so maybe I’ll be able to fit in some reading!

Here’s the plan. I really plan on finishing one book for sure. I also want to get some progress in some other books I’m reading or want to read.

Also I need to start my Tome Topple book since it starts today!

But anyways I want to finish A Skinful of Shadows. That is my priority book for this weekend! If I finish any book this weekend I want it to be this one.

I also plan on getting hopefully halfway through The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, which is the book I plan on reading for the Tome Topple. I want to at least get like 300 pages in at the most! Here’s hoping that I do!

01 final empire

I notice that I have ambitious TBR goals and I think maybe I should start cutting down on that because I always get upset at myself when I never complete them. So maybe one or two books a weekend is good, and then three books a week.

We’ll see how long I stick with that because I don’t want to be so ambitious when I know I have work and homework to worry about!!

Anyways

Those are my weekend reading plans! Let me know if you have specific reading plans or just regular plans for the weekend and I’ll see you in my next post!

Weekend Reads

OK so as mentioned before I’ve been really bad at reading recently because I’ve been so busy with working and school. So this weekend I’m making it a priority to read! I have to work Friday and Sunday but I work late so I plan on reading as much as I can!

I really want to finish City of Brass first this weekend. Then I plan on reading Ever the Brave! Those are my priority plans this weekend. I also want to finish the audiobook I am currently reading. I’ll go more into that down below.

So as mentioned the first book I want to focus on is City of Brass. I hate that it’s been taking me so long to read but I hope to finish this by Friday at least.

I also want to start and finish Ever the Brave by Erin Summerill. I loved the first book so I really want to get to the second book and devour it! I need to find out what happens next. 9780544664463_hres

I also want to finish my current audiobook which is How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather. I’m not really liking it but I hope it gets better. I just think the main character is too young for me. I honestly am not sure I’m going to continue with this, which makes me sad. But we shall see how I feel about it.

Other than that those are the books I hope to read this weekend. Let me know in the comments what you plan on reading this weekend or what you are currently reading as I would love to know!

Weekend Reads TBR

Hey everyone! I’m a day late for Weekend Reads but I don’t have many plans since I’m so busy with work lately. I just want to get at least one book done but we’ll see what I do!

The main book I want to read is City or Brass by S A Chakraborty yes I’m still reading this but I really want To finish this!

I’ll just post that book because I’m not sure if I’ll get to another book so yeah…we shall see! What are you plans this weekend??

Weekend Reads

Hey guys! I’m here with another Weekend Reads post! I have a few books that I want to read this weekend so here’s to hoping that I get to!

First book I want to read is The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. I want to read it mainly because we’re getting to the end of the month so I want to get my spooky reads in before the month is over! This book sounds really good so let’s hope it’s really spooky!

562d209572711b538b4651d55c88545d--cheap-textbooks-short-novels

Summary:  First published in 1959, Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House has been hailed as a perfect work of unnerving terror. It is the story of four seekers who arrive at a notoriously unfriendly pile called Hill House: Dr. Montague, an occult scholar looking for solid evidence of a “haunting”; Theodora, his lighthearted assistant; Eleanor, a friendless, fragile young woman well acquainted with poltergeists; and Luke, the future heir of Hill House. At first, their stay seems destined to be merely a spooky encounter with inexplicable phenomena. But Hill House is gathering its powers—and soon it will choose one of them to make its own.

Another book I hope to get to is Ever the Brave by Erin Summerill! Loved the first book so much so since I got an ARC for the second book I plan on reading it! I need to devour this book so badly! What did you think of the first book?? I won’t leave a summary because it is the second book in the series, so read the first before checking this book out in the future!

Last book I want to get to is Alone by Cyn Balog. I plan to read this mainly because I want to and I have a blog tour for this book as well so I need to get it done hahaha! Stay tuned for my post with this book!

alone

Summary: When her mom inherits an old, crumbling mansion, Seda’s almost excited to spend the summer there. The grounds are beautiful and it’s fun to explore the sprawling house with its creepy rooms and secret passages. Except now her mom wants to renovate, rather than sell the estate—which means they’re not going back to the city…or Seda’s friends and school.

As the days grow shorter, Seda is filled with dread. They’re about to be cut off from the outside world, and she’s not sure she can handle the solitude or the darkness it brings out in her.

Then a group of teens get stranded near the mansion during a blizzard. Seda has no choice but to offer them shelter, even though she knows danger lurks in the dilapidated mansion—and in herself. And as the snow continues to fall, what Seda fears most is about to become her reality…

Let me know what you plan on reading during the weekend and I’ll see you in my post!

Weekend Reads TBR

Hey everyone! It’s time for another Weekend Reads TBR! I have three books I plan to get to this weekend, and one book I want to hopefully get to if I have time to read it. If not it’ll go to my Weekly Reads TBR

The first book I want to read it Alone by Cyn Balog! I’ve never read a book by her but it sounds really interesting so I plan on getting to it! I actually never see any of her books around, but I requested this book off Netgalley so I’m happy to check it out!

The next book is The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz. I have heard really good things about this book and it sounds really interesting! I love this cover too! I also got this off Netgalley so I decided to try and check it out!

Summary: When the music stops, the dance begins.

Seventeen-year-old Penny is a lead dancer at the Grande Teatro, a finishing school where she and eleven other young women are training to become the finest ballerinas in Italy. Tucked deep into the woods, the school is overseen by the mysterious and handsome young Master who keeps the girls ensconced in the estate – and in the only life Penny has never known.

But when flashes of memories, memories of a life very different from the one she thinks she’s been leading, start to appear, Penny begins to question the Grand Teatro and the motivations of the Master. With a kind and attractive kitchen boy, Cricket, at her side, Penny vows to escape the confines of her school and the strict rules that dictate every step she takes. But at every turn, the Master finds a way to stop her, and Penny must find a way to escape the school and uncover the secrets of her past before it’s too late.

Next is Seize Today by Pintup Dunn. This is the third book in the companion series. I hope this one is good because I wasn’t a big fan of the first two books. I’m part of the blog tour for this book so check back for a review and post about this book soon!

Summary: Seventeen-year-old precognitive Olivia Dresden is an optimist. Since different versions of people’s futures flicker before her eyes, she doesn’t have to believe in human decency. She can literally see the path to goodness in each person—if only he or she would make the right decision. No one is more conflicted than her mother, Chairwoman Dresden, and Olivia is fiercely loyal to the woman her mother could be.

But when the Chairwoman captures Ryder Russell, a boy from the rebel Underground, Olivia is forced to reevaluate her notions of love and faith. With Ryder’s help, Olivia must come to terms with who her mother is in the present—and stop her before she destroys the world.

The book I hope to get to if I finish these books first is Retribution Rails by Erin Bowman. I read the first book recently, my review is here: Vengeance Road.

I liked the first book, and I think this is a companion novel to Vengeance Road so I hope I like it. To be honest I sometimes don’t always like companion novels because I get too attached to the first characters.

Summary: When Reece Murphy is forcibly dragged into the Rose Riders gang because of a mysterious gold coin in his possession, he vows to find the man who gave him the piece and turn him over to the gang in exchange for freedom. Never does he expect a lead to come from an aspiring female journalist. But when Reece’s path crosses with Charlotte Vaughn after a botched train robbery and she mentions a promising rumor about a gunslinger from Prescott, it becomes apparent that she will be his ticket to freedom—or a noose. As the two manipulate each other for their own ends, past secrets are unearthed, reviving a decade-old quest for revenge that may be impossible to settle.

This is my TBR for this weekend! What do you hope to read this weekend???

Weekend Reads

Hey everyone! I haven’t don’t a Weekend Reads post in a while but I figured I would try and get that back up again! I have two books I really want to push to finish this weekend so let’s see how I do!

So the first book I really want to complete this weekend is One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake. I finished the first book Monday and have been busy with school so I haven’t gotten much reading of the second one but I do hope to finish it this weekend. I’m about 100 pages in so maybe today or tomorrow morning I’ll be able to finish it.

The next book I want to read is Wild Beauty by Anne-Marie McLemore. I got an ARC through a trade so I want to read it before it’s released next month. I love love love this cover and Ive heard a lot of good things about this book so I’m excited to check it out!

Summary: For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.

The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.

Weekend Reads

Hey guys! So this post is about books I really want to get done with this weekend! One is a ebook, one is a physical book, and the last is an audiobook!

First up is Heartborn by Terry Maggert! Here’s a quick summary from Goodreads:

Her guardian angel was pushed.

Keiron was never meant to be anything other than a hero. Born high above in a place of war and deception, he is Heartborn, a being of purity and goodness in a place where violence and deceit are just around every corner.

His disappearance will spark a war he cannot see, for Keiron has pierced the light of days to save a girl he has never met, for reasons he cannot understand. Livvy Foster is seventeen, brave, and broken. With half a heart, she bears the scars of a lifetime of pain and little hope of survival.

Until Keiron arrives.

In the middle of a brewing war and Livvy’s failing heart, Keiron will risk everything for Livvy, because a Heartborn’s life can only end in one way: Sacrifice.

Fall with Livvy and Keiron as they seek the truth about her heart, and his power, and what it means to love someone who will give their very life to save you.

I’m already a few chapters in so I hope I really like it!

Up next is one I’ve wanted to read for a while now! It’s Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones. The sequel just got the cover reveal and it’s stunning! Link here: Shadowsong Cover Reveal

Here is a summary of Wintersong for you all!

All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.

But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says. Without sacrifice, nothing good can grow. Without death, there can be no rebirth. In exchange for her sister’s freedom, Liesl offers her hand in marriage to the Goblin King. He accepts.

Down in the Underground, Liesl discovers that the Goblin King still inspires her—musically, physically, emotionally. Yet even as her talent blossoms, Liesl’s life is slowly fading away, the price she paid for becoming the Goblin King’s bride. As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world.

Lastly is one I’ve slowly been listening to on audiobook and it’s Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi. I wanted to finish this early but I just randomly kept putting it off so I decided to listen to the audiobook and was listening to it when I would drive to school.

I know you all probably know what it’s about but I’ll leave a summary anyways:

She is the princess of Bharata—captured by her kingdom’s enemies, a prisoner of war. Now that she faces a future of exile and scorn, Gauri has nothing left to lose. But should she trust Vikram, the notoriously cunning prince of a neighboring land? He promises her freedom in exchange for her battle prowess. Together they can team up and win the Tournament of Wishes, a competition held in a mythical city where the Lord of Wealth promises a wish to the victor.

It seems like a foolproof plan—until Gauri and Vikram arrive at the tournament and find that danger takes on new shapes: poisonous courtesans, mischievous story birds, a feast of fears, and twisted fairy revels. New trials will test their devotion, strength, and wits. But what Gauri and Vikram will soon discover is that there’s nothing more dangerous than what they most desire.

A Crown of wishes

Let me know in the comments what you plan on reading this coming weekend as I would love to know! I’ll be posting a wrap-up on Sunday!

See you then everyone!
